We are seeking to recruit a Field Officer to undertake survey work in Mid/Central Scotland regions in the UK. As part of its remit to reward rightsholders, CLA carries out a programme of surveys throughout each year in selections of Educational establishments, Central and Local Government, the National Health Service, the Business sector and Public Bodies across the UK. Premises are visited by Field Officers who use a variety of methods to gather information and data which is then used by CLA to reward rightsholders – authors, publishers and visual creators.

The successful applicant will have excellent analytical, problem solving, influencing and decision making skills, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills and significant experience of working to critical deadlines. They will join a well-established and motivated team who work predominantly on single projects but also as part of the team.

The applicant must be mobile, have their own car and be reasonably fit as a moderate amount of physical work is sometimes involved when setting up survey materials. Applicant should have reasonable IT skills and have confidence in liaising with senior representatives of survey establishments as well as dealing with customers on a face-to-face or telephone basis. There will be a limited requirement for overnight stays for particular surveys.

Full training and induction will be offered to the successful applicant as well as a supportive network of field officers and survey co-ordinators. Field Officers are engaged on an annual contract and the initial probation period for new Field Officers is six months. While not guaranteed, the average time commitment for a Field Officer is between 75 and 150 days per year. Field Officers are presently paid £92 per day.
