Project Controller - civil building, construction, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Our client is a leading engineering services provider to the defence sector and currently are recruiting for two Project Controllers, to be an integral part of the Marine and Technology Division at Clyde, driving continual improvement and 'best practice' within our organisation.
The Project Controller is responsible for managing and delivering both planned and unplanned projects allocated to them by the Project Manager to the agreed cost, quality and timescale. They will continually manage approximately 12 - 16 projects, which will vary in complexity and sensitivity but will typically be of a value range to 1M.
The Project Controller will undertake full management of the project inc contractors, but will refer to the Project Manager for complex decisions in all of the key results areas and for support and guidance where necessary.
The main responsibilities of this role will be to:
Review the requirements and design of solutions and their practicality for implementation. The Project Controller will make recommendations for change and will provide these at stakeholder or design meetings for approval.
Identify all stakeholders specific to the project and make contact with them. Set up and chair regular stakeholder meetings. Develop a Communications Plan, statement of requirements and acceptance criteria with the stakeholder group, which will then be verified and approved by them.
Will implement the commercial process by working with the QS and commercial team to determine the best type of contracts to use to support the project delivery. This review includes analysing and determining contract criteria like payment methods and periods. Creates criteria for contractor selection in addition and uses this information to decide the best fit when engaging in the Contractor Selection Process.
Creates supporting paperwork that needs approval such as C12, T12, NSAG and DCR documents. Once submitted, will attend necessary meetings to provide explanation to support approval and will answer questions about proposed methodology and process.
