Our client is an Energy, Oil and Gas service contractor who is international leader in both marginal field developments, in life-of-field engineering and in production support. They have a requirement for a Senior Technical Safety Engineer to work in their Runcorn project office on a long term contract. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting safety related studies on design projects including but not limited to process hazard reviews, hazard consequence modelling, process hazard analyses, risk assessment studies, Safety Integrity Level determinations, and management of changes as related to safety. Coaching lower level professionals within the group. Designated focal point on certain jobs and as such should be prepared to plan, budget, organize, and control an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program.
Required Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
HAZOP/HAZID arrangement , participation & chairing( if required) , ALARP demonstrations, QRA coordination; AFP/PFP development, Hazardous area classification; Ability to perform updates for operational safety case and support/defend them to client and regulatory bodies ;Same ability required for combined operations safety case etc. Ability to plan and cost small to medium project safety and environmental engineering scopes, including development of cost estimates. Able to scope work for, and manage external consultancies. Able to act as a liaison point for project teams, clients and external regulatory bodies.
Required Education & Qualifications:
- Degree level qualification in an engineering/safety subject.
- MSc in Safety Engineering (or related subject) considered a bonus
