My client is one of the worlds leading international maritime engineering consultancy providing a wide ranging and advanced design, risk management, experimentation and software systems to marine, offshore, defence and civil engineering markets. They are a leading international supplier of specialist consultancy services, and advanced software systems to the environment, ports and shipping industries in the areas of vessel manoeuvring and simulation.
Role Information:
- Lead the implementation of an agreed global sales and marketing plan for the new product/technology
- Achieving both sales and new client targets, agreed in advance on an annual basis
- Liaison and supporting key strategic industry partners (coating suppliers, bunker advisory services, shipboard IT system providers, turnkey installation providers etc.)
- Ensuring key industry stakeholder feedback is obtained to feed into an on-going developmental route map for the product
- Identifying and facilitating opportunities for spin-off consultancy services related to bunker fuel and IMO-related energy efficiency compliance
The Individual required
- Preferably ex-seagoing (deck or engineering officer) with a shore-based technical qualification HND/BSc
- A demonstrable track record in market share growth and profitable sales growth of technical products (and possibly consultancy services) in international commercial shipping
- Access to up to date international network and contact base of senior decision makers (e.g. fleet superintendents, etc.) within the ship owner and chartering sector.
- Familiarity of sales within key geographic segments (e.g., Greece, Northern Europe, Hong Kong, Scandinavia, Singapore, US)
- IT capable, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- A strong focus to constantly strive for excellence and deliver results
- The ability to manage own workload within agreed time frames
- Uses one's own initiative, demonstrates resilience, logical in approach and is pro-active in role
- Ability to build persuasive and convincing proposals in relation to my clients technology
As part of the team, you will be afforded a considerable level of autonomy. As our clients operate worldwide in different time zones, the role requires a flexible approach and the ability and willingness to travel internationally.
