Design, analyse and assist with the project management of subsea engineering projects, encompassing activities from initial contact with the Client through concept, design, manufacture, build, test to completion of the associated documentation and procedures.
Accountabilities
Preparation of structural designs (and innovative mechanical designs) backed with engineering calculations and analysis.
Preparation of design, manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
Liaison with suppliers and the client to ensure requirements are achieved and issues are resolved.
Review and checking of drawings and calculations.
Participate in all aspects of planning, design, and production of engineering designs and equipment, including project control such as cost control, scheduling, and conducting reviews and risk assessments.
Support subsea engineering and tooling products and equipment as required (may require offshore trips).
Assist with the preparation of quotations, proposals and marketing materials for engineering projects and related equipment.
Qualifications
HND / Degree or equivalent level of competence in an Engineering Discipline – Essential
Chartered status – Preferred
Experience
Experience as a Design Engineer, Structural Engineer or other relevant role working on offshore or subsea projects - Preferred
Experience of designing and analysing Structural Steelwork - Essential
Knowledge of Remotely Operated Vehicles and related tooling - Preferred
Experience of designing equipment relating to some of the following - Essential
- Hydraulic systems,
- Pneumatic systems,
- Mechanisms,
- Pressure vessels and pipework, and
- Electrical power and control systems
General project management experience – Preferred
Software
2D AutoCAD - Essential
3D CAD Experience - Essential
SolidWorks 2011 - Essential
FS 2000 - Preferred
MathCAD - Preferred
Microsoft Word - Essential
Microsoft Excel - Essential
Microsoft Project or similar - Preferred
