The Students’ Union is an independent charitable organisation that aims to enhance the student experience by representing the interests of all students at Canterbury Christ Church University, both individually and collectively. It promotes and organises representational, educational, welfare, social, cultural and sporting support and activities for the student body to access and participate in. The post-holder provides strategic leadership for all operational areas of the Union and delivers the political, operational and financial objectives set by Union Council and the Trustees. The post-holder will manage the interface between the democratic, governance and operational aspects of the Union, ensuring the delivery of its mission in accordance with its values.
You will have significant and relevant management and leadership experience at a senior level in a complex organisation including experience of successfully managing significant change. In addition you will have experience of managing complex contracts. You must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and operation of best practice in human resource and financial management as well as a sound understanding of effective governance in not-for-profit organisations.
