Pangbourne Role synopsis The Expert Technologist is recognised as an expert in an area of expertise within his/ her Function. The Expert Technologist develops connections within the company and externally to provide access to innovative thinking from a wide range of technologically diverse sources of innovation. The Expert Technologist also develops and influences technology strategies for the use of materials in product development. The role requires extensive interaction with a wide range of stakeholders including the technology suppliers, Research, QATS, Product Development teams, Safety & Testing Operations team, and external establishments. The role also entails coaching, guiding and mentoring other team members and leading initiatives (e.g. master classes) to facilitate knowledge transfer. Key accountabilities
To source, investigate and develop relevant technologies for GFT, having the vision to recognise the long term value of opportunities.

To manage a portfolio of technology projects, including planning, execution, documentation, advising and presentation to stakeholders.

Participate in the Offer Development and Innovation process as appropriate

To direct the work of less experienced team members

Develops wide range of partnership links within the organisation, actively seeking opportunities to extend network of useful contacts.

Develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders externally and internally including the technology suppliers.

Identify and manage testing facilities as required

Coach and mentor less experience team members

To manage intellectual property associated with these projects (secrecy agreements, patents etc) Essential Education
A degree in a Chemistry or Engineering discipline is essential and preferably further qualified to PhD level Essential experience and job requirements
Preferred candidates will have deep technical experise in fuel development.

Candidates must have experrience of fuels including diesel and gasoline and preferably have a background in combustion & automotive engineering and a track record in the area of fuels technology

The team consists of Product Quality & Research. Activities focus on long term and short to medium term support on gasoline, diesel, aviation, and marine fuels’ related matters and perform business focused technology development under marketing and manufacturing funded programmes.
