Mediatonic is an award winning independent games developer based in Soho, London. We're passionate about creating original games that bring millions of people together.
We work across a range of different digital platforms, building connected experiences for partners such as Adultswim, Disney, Nickelodeon, Microsoft, SEGA, Sony, Nintendo, EA, Pixar, Universal and Warner Brothers.
In addition to this, we design and publish our own games such as "Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess" and "Whos That Flying?!".
As a company, Mediatonic is entirely focused on designing and building 2D games. Artwork plays a huge role in our development process and adds style and substance to our games. In this role, you’ll be designing and producing artwork that makes an impression and impact, giving our games a true personality and a life of their own.
Responsibilities include:
Design and define visually striking art styles for our games
Rapidly create concept art for pitches and prototypes
Concept, design and create original game characters, backgrounds and worlds
Create high quality production art assets, animation and UI for use in games
Work closely within a team to build super high quality games
Requirements
We’re looking for creatively driven artists who are overflowing with ideas and passionate about gaming. These are the key things we’re looking for in candidates:
Super strong art portfolio of 2D vector work
Excellent design skills, including effective use of colour, form and composition
Solid understanding of usability and user interfaces
Good working knowledge of 2D animation
Expert experience with tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Flash
Understanding of the technical aspects of art production for digital platforms
A passion for playing and making games!

Our working environment and culture is hugely important to us at Mediatonic. Our office is based in the heart of central London, we have a relaxed, open working environment with a games room and fully stocked fridge.
We run a number of social events and activities during and outside of work time including:
Monthly Game Jams: Teams come together and attempt to make a game in 3 hours with the help of lots of pizza and beer.
Game nights: Board game nights where we try new weird and wonderful board games
Work outings: Weekly pub trips after work in Soho. Sometimes we even go to Nandos.
Company lunches: Regular lunch outings on the company in restaurants across London.
