If you are a shining star working as a Design Engineer who has Ideally qualified with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) although other qualification combined with relevant experience may be accepted. 2 +years experience in a product design environment, ideally Oil & Gas although transferrable skills from marine, aerospace, pumps, automotive etc welcome. Experience of 2D (ideally Microstation) and 3D (ideally Unigraphics) drawing packages.
As a Design Engineer of the highest calibre you will have experience in verifying designs using classical analysis (bending, buckling, shear, bearing and pressure vessels) and ideally FEA. As a Design Engineer you will be comfortable producing and managing design documentation and files. Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise. Ability to coach more junior members of the engineering department such as Graduate Engineers and Designers
As a Design Engineer you will be involved in the design of subsea systems for the Oil & Gas industry primarily Xmas Trees, Separators, Pumps etc. To meet customer specifications in accordance with industry codes and work procedures.
- As a Design Engineer you will present designs to engineering staff during internal design reviews.
- As a Design Engineer you will prepare DBI`s and review detail drawings (selecting raw material as necessary) prepared from design layouts.
- As a Design Engineer you will make necessary engineering changes to product drawings and DBI`s.
- As a Design Engineer you will participate in investigation and disposition of non-conformances.
- As a Design Engineer you will generate equipment assembly, test, FAT (Final Acceptance Test), handling, storage, rework, maintenance and commissioning procedures as required.
- As a Design Engineer you will provide necessary support to the various internal departments (manufacturing, shop, planning, QA, commercial, purchasing, assembly etc) as equipment is progressed through the facility.
- As a Design Engineer you will carry out general engineering duties as identified by the relevant group leader or engineering manager.
- As a Design Engineer you will provide competent input to risk assessments related to equipment
- As a Design Engineer you will learn the clients increasing product line to be able to innovate through incremental design improvements
- As a Design Engineer you will develop technical skills in a fast paced technical environment
- As a Design Engineer you will develop personal skills (verbal and written) to meet the requirements of an increasing responsibility and experience level
- As a Design Engineer you will progress to Chartered Engineer, through completion of MPDS or direct route
This is a permanent position, with an expected salary circa £35k depending on experience for the right Design Engineer.
37.5 per week. Flextime from 7:30am - 6:00pm but CANNOT bank hours.
