Our client is a leading global manufacturing organisation with facilities based in Belfast. Their products are using cutting edge technology in order to serve the power and utilities industries. At present we are seeking to recruit an experienced quality manager who's primary role will be to provide leadership, direction and hands on involvement regarding quality and continuous improvement in support of strategic and policy deployment objectives. The Quality Manager is responsible for driving the quality Implementation Processes in the organisation.
Duties: -
- Implements and maintains the Quality Improvement process including establishing multiyear targets for achieving the company's strategic quality objectives
- Drives the development of quality related policy deployment objectives
- Provides input and recommendations for the identification and selection of improvement projects
- Assists in the development of action plans in support of quality related policy deployment objectives and improvement projects
- Co-ordinates and or facilitates improvement project teams
- Assists purchasing in developing and maintaining supplier quality objectives
- Develops and provides expert knowledge, training and consulting in quality improvement tools
- Monitors and reports on quality metrics and progress toward quality goals including internal, incoming and external quality and complaint handling process
- Recommends test and inspection equipment as required to achieve quality goals
- Acts as a spokesperson for quality initiatives to generate understanding and support
- Works with new product development teams on Design for Manufacturability aimed at improving product quality and reliability
- Assists management and teams in selecting quality measures and setting up quality reporting systems
- Assists in the analyzing and evaluation of resulting data for improvement opportunities
- Conducts research on product defects and recommends modifications in products or quality standards where warranted
- Visits customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems
- Performs duties in accordance with establish quality standards
- Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required
Qualifications:-
- Bachelors or higher, preferably in Engineering
- Demonstrated analytical / statistical problem solving skills
- In depth knowledge of quality principles and technical tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, design for six sigma, control charts and other quality methodologies)
- Has completed or is willing and able to complete Black Belt in quality related tool
- Process improvement and knowledge of process control
- Lean production flow knowledge
- Genba orientation: Majority of time spent on the floor, using visual management, performing root cause / corrective actions at cells with associates
- Results Orientation: Actions are taken to clearly deliver measurable results
- Ability to lead cross functional teams
and management levels
- Enthusiastic, through and details, with the ability to lead and motivate others to high levels of performance
