Harvey Nash is currently recruiting a Software Development Project Manager for a Glasgow based software house that is internationally acknowledged as an expert in their specialist sector. This is an important hire for the company and is a brilliant career opportunity for an experienced software project manager with a strong commercial background. You will be creating a new team for this project and will be developing a new web application. As the project manager you will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to the product and be pivotal in its success.

The company are a small innovative software house that produces a product used by blue-chip brands. Their clients are in a fast paced growth sector and the company has a great reputation in the market. This new product will allow them additional opportunities within the market and allow them to expand their presence. This role will be challenging, but you will find this rewarding and stimulating.

As Software Development Project Manager your duties will include;

• Project managing the development of a new software product
• Managing risk and allocating resources appropriately
• Recruiting and managing a team to complete the project and subsequent releases and updates
• Providing input into the product roadmap, ensuring this matches up with project plans
• Creating and implementing processes
• Working with the Technical Architect to ensure that technical direction is defined and communicated
• Holding daily team meetings in an efficient manner
• Using recognised industry software management tools

To succeed in this position it is essential you have experience in the following areas;

• Software project management
• Recruitment of software development teams
• Managing the development of a new software product for external customers

Ideally you will have experience in a start-up environment or working for a SME. You will be an excellent communicator who enjoys managing and motivating your team. The ability to deliver to deadline is essential so you will have a proven track record of delivering on time and to budget.
