An extremely commercial business based in the Bangor area has retained Reed Finance -Northern Ireland on an exclusive basis to recruit for an experienced Finance Manager / Controller for a 6-9 month fixed term contract. This varied and challenging role will report to the Regional Financial Controller and the on-site General Manager. Duties and responsibilities will include: • Ensure group reporting and planning deadlines are achieved and that all reporting packs are completed monthly on a timely basis under UK GAAP and IFRS • Ensure real time weekly finance data and information is available for local management to proactively control costs • Ensure that regular and effective reviews of management information are carried out at all levels and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that business plans are achieved • Ability to provide analysis, commentary and proactive suggestions regarding the businesses, its outcome, cost, balance sheet and cash flows • Actively promote and monitor the corporate development initiatives across Northern Ireland • Lead and contribute fully to the forecasting and budgeting requirements • Ensure that all statutory reporting requirements are achieved • Ensure compliance with financial requirements • Provide strong personal leadership; create productive working relationships at all levels; bring out the best in people and inspire teamwork • Lead a small team of direct reports This role also requires the successful candidate to proactively involve themselves in the ongoing migration of the current IT system. Candidates who are technically strong when it comes to systems and those who have been involved in the implementation or migration of complex systems will have an advantage.
Advanced Excel is also required. This role requires a fully qualified commercial accountant with experience in a changing environment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential. Applicants with construction / engineering industry experience may have an advantage but this is not essential.
