Our client is a prestigious organisation based just a few miles South of Cambridge. We are now looking to recruit, on their behalf, an experienced and talented Machinist / Technician.
The person we are looking to recruit will have excellent manual machining skills with CNC experience to take on this role in the Electron Beam, Friction and Laser Processes department.
Working in a small team, the role will be heavily involved in carrying out complex machining operations to produce friction stir welding tools, one off component parts for electron beam guns and general jigs.
A sound knowledge of manual milling, turning, grinding and cutting along with a strong background in the use of four axis CNC mills running a Heidenhain control system, CNC lathes and experience of using CAD packages would be useful.
Experience in machining a wide variety of materials would be desirable such as plastics, ceramics and titanium would be a distinct advantage.
Applicants with a BTEC or higher in an engineering discipline are particularly welcome to apply.
