Debt System Software Developer
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Software Developer to join Debt/Commission team within Customer Business Systems in our Technology Directorate. The main purpose of these roles will be to contribute in delivering multiple projects within complex programmes of work.

As Software Developer your key tasks will include;
- Gaining knowledge and experience of a variety of systems, techniques and practices within the functional area, keeping up to date with technical/professional developments.
- To build effective relationships across IT and other client areas within Sky.
- To agree clear personal objectives with your manager and take responsibility for achieving them.
- To ensure that development standards and processes are implemented and contribute actively to their continuous improvement.
- To ensure that development and support requests are efficiently logged and tracked through to resolution.
- To update documentation to reflect code changes in a timely manner to ensure that team knowledge is captured and retained.
- As a team member, participate in the ongoing development of team working, flexibility, and involvement.
- To promote and demonstrate IT's core values and support other team members to demonstrate these values.
- To maintain and promote effective and open communications within the team and department.
For success in this role we would need you to have the following;
- Experience of implementing and integrating and supporting substantial package and bespoke systems
- Experience of implementing complex systems integration - sharing data between departments and with external suppliers and customers
- Experience of Java J2EE, Oracle SQL & PL/SQL and basic Unix and Shell scripting
- First class analytical skills
- Ability to implement technical decisions in a fast moving commercial environment
- Excellent team working skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of Actuate and Ab Initio would be an advantage, but not essential
