89629 - Field Service Technician Level II
This position is responsible for installation and maintenance of all equipment.
Job Description
- Include Level 1 technical responsibilities
- Complies with all, customer and governmental HS&E policies and regulations.
- Person is responsible for reporting all accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions.
- Generates quality work tickets and accountable for and customer assets, i.e. test equipment, safety equipment, vehicles and etc.
- Works proficiently as a team member Interfaces effectively with customers both internal and external.
- Proficient with the installation of Digital microwave/multiplexers, stabilized satellite, routers, hubs, two way radios and scada.
- Also capable of troubleshooting these systems with varying levels of assistance from technical support staff.
- Capable of utilizing the following test equipment: Spectrum Analyzer, BERT tester, Microwave Frequency counter, Microwave Power meter, microwave variable attenuator.
- Installation of Network equipment and Cat 5 cabling.
- Responses to disaster recovery
- Ensure system preparations are complete prior to hurricane season Mentor level 1 technicians
- Difficulties in Job Position: Driving for long periods of time Required to ride in aircraft
- Impact of Errors: Extended system downtime High cost of return trips due to technician error. Loss of customer due to dissatisfaction. This could be tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands in lost revenue. Detrimental to team morale
Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of formal electronic training or equivalent experience
- Valid Drivers License
- Experience: Installation of digital microwave, multiplexers, stabilized satellite, networking, two way radios and scada.
- Experience: Spectrum Analyzer, BERT tester, Microwave Frequency counter, Microwave Power meter, microwave variable attenuator.
- Some Experience: Working in the offshore working environment.
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
