Senior Programme Manager, Electronic Repair Services, NPI

Our client is a global electronics solutions company providing comprehensive design, production and product management services to global electronics and technology companies. They have over 75,000 employees in facilities around the world, more than 20 of which are in the EMEA region.

The current opportunity is in the Repair Services Group which primarily focuses on repair and warranty servicing. Service locations are strategically positioned around the world to provide easier access and allow for 24-hour to 5 day turn-around.

Overview:
This is a new position. The role sits in the Programme Management function, a team that has cross client/location responsibility for a diverse range of internal and externally facing business programmes. This particular position will take responsibility for one of the largest EMEA clients where there are a number of NPI and improvement programs running.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the effective delivery of all new business for this blue chip customer. The main deliverable of this role is to ensure a detailed programme of work is developed in line with customer requirements and is executed in line with agreed cost, time and quality parameters. A key aspect of the role will be to identify opportunities for improvement of current processes as well as acting in an advisory and assurance capacity in terms of project execution.

The role also extends to Project Management of large, strategic projects that will be adding significant value both internally and to the customer.

The role is wide ranging and includes responsibility for:
Managing a portfolio of customer based projects, effectively delegating throughout the organisation and ensuring deliverables are produced as defined

Effective communication of programme activity to the customer

Ensuring agreed customer KPI's are met in relation to project execution

Working with project managers ensuring the programme status is updated through status reports and any deviations are quickly managed

Ensuring the customer programme is integrated into the wider EMEA programme of work

Taking a lead role in early project definition, work with the Account Directors, Site Directors and Business Unit Managers to develop comprehensive solutions to meet customer expectations

Working with other functional areas, IT, logistics etc to understand the best fit customer solution

Responsible for the accuracy of financial projections on projects

Management of detailed multi functional project plans, identifying issues and risks and proactively managing these to ensure minimal impact on the critical path

Provide Regular updates to Account Directors, Business Unit managers, Site Directors and Regional/Corporate Functional leadership on the execution of the project

Tracking project budgets from a programme perspective, identifying potential overspends and working with project managers to avoid/reduce these

Ensure effective implementation of systems across the Business units and common implementation of best practices

Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality)

Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately

Your experience should be broad and relevant:
There is a preference for candidates who have specific experience gained in the AMS function of the Electronics sector - ideally linked to volume consumer markets. We would also consider candidates from electronics industry OEM's or indeed other sectors providing they can demonstrate a strong and relevant knowledge and skill set.

It is assumed that candidates will also be able to present and expand on the detail of previous roles that have carried similar or matching responsibilities to those outlined above.

Additionally candidates should be/display:
A solid understanding and evidence of application in programme management

PRINCE 2 or PMP qualified and can provide evidence of application of knowledge

Experienced in leading other project managers in a programme environment

Experience working with senior level management

Ability to manage personal workload and prioritise on short, medium and long term

Ability to take the initiative and push projects forward

Ability to influence

Energy, drive, tenacity, professionalism, commitment

It is expected that the role will require an amount of travel. With this role there is a strong preference that candidates have a home base in the EMEA region.

Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English.
