Web developer / project leader Technical Project Manager
The Company
The company distributes live TV and video to mobile phones and other mobile devices. The position is based in the Swansea office.
Role:
Working on the full life cycle of technical projects and managing existing platform . Managing the development team both in UK and India . Ensuring and r eport ing on the progress of development and programming projects and managing existing systems. Troubleshoot and identify issues as well as organizing solutions. Report to CTO and CEO .
Key responsibilities
- Manage the technical team
- Ensure existing sites and applications are maintained to the standard of the company
- Define and maintain development roadmaps and new feature launch plans
- Working on projects to improve the scalability and stability of the mobile TV distribution
- Translating complex functional and technical requirements from customers into detailed product plans and product implementations and/or integration
- Full life cycle projects development
- Monitor and report on progress of the project to Lead Programmer and CEO
- Monitor and manage risks and other issues
Essential skills/experience/qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years experience of managing a technical development team
- E xperience with/knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, XHTML , LAMP, CSS, XHTML would be helpful
- E xperience of mobile phone operating systems iPhone, Android, Symbian, Blackberry ; experience with video streaming an advantage (but not essential)
- Software engineering experience with a sound appreciation of all aspects of the software life cycle
- Knowledge of and ability to implement professional coding practices and standards
- Educated to BSc or MSc level in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Strong team player with excellent leadership skills who enjoys collaborative working
- Excellent presentation, communication and organisational skills
- A self motivated person who can work in a demanding environment to strict timelines and on own initiative whilst maintaining the standards of the company
- Creative, innovative thinker with good problem solving skills
- Meticulous and thorough with a healthy respect for quality and standard
- Ability to analyse and improve working practices within the team as well as the products developed
- Any programming experience an advantage but not essential
