Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a $4 billion strong High Frequency Hedge fund with performance figures of 24%.

The Linux infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:
The provision and management of business-critical Linux computing systems including storage, compute and network components across multiple sites

In-house infrastructure development and operation in Linux

Supporting live operations, HPC research and internal development environments in a fast-paced environment.

You will be involved in all of its operations with opportunities to develop many new systems and services while having significant responsibility for various computing systems from Linux to KDB/Q

Candidates MUST have:
At least 3 years’ professional system administration experience in a Linux/Unix environment supporting business-critical systems

Significant Linux and general system administration expertise – configuration and software management, system interfaces, performance tuning, file system semantics and implementations, computer security, and familiarity with a wide range of infrastructure-related software

Infrastructure architecture and design experience together with strong systems programming skills

Strong teamwork, communication skills, and an appetite for delivering solutions to complex problems

Support of scientific IT environments and low-latency systems

Building high-performance, resilient systems using commodity hardware and open-source software

Familiarity with Linux kernel internals
