Role Description
Fourteen exciting new opportunities have arisen aimed specifically at well qualified school and college leavers in our General Insurance Intermediaries and Partnerships team and Corporate and Strategic Risk, as Trainee Trading Underwriters across the UK. Two roles will be based in our Leeds Commercial Trading Hub.

We have ambitious plans to continue our domination of the broker market and the scale of our UK operations provides further scope for individual development and progression.
Not only will you get full training support to develop your knowledge of insurance products, as you develop you will also trade on large cases and play an important part in helping the team develop new opportunities, specifically the profitable growth of our accounts.
This role gives you a fantastic opportunity to not only to develop your technical skills but gives you the chance to meet both brokers and customers face to face.
You will be sponsored to study for the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) exams and expected to achieve Diploma status within two years.
The successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, flexibility, motivation and be committed to developing themselves to build a long-term career in the insurance industry.
The successful candidates will be trained in full working knowledge of Aviva’s General Insurance products, including:
- Market awareness and presence
- In-depth knowledge of trends / patterns within Finance and Insurance sectors
- In-depth technical and product knowledge and understanding of products underwriting strategy
- In-depth knowledge of risk management and risk management solutions
- Legislation / regulation
- Trading skills and behaviours

Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of 300 UCAS points (equivalent to 3 B's at A Level)
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grades A to C with two of those being in Maths and English
