my client is a world-leader in the integration of cutting-edge defence and security systems, delivering decisive advantage to military, government and civil customers worldwide. Reporting to the Software Asset Manager the Software Asset Lead will be responsible for the following;
- Support Bid and Development activities when required
- Facilitate regular audits to reconcile installed software against purchased software licences to verify compliance.
- Address and manage issues pertaining to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Export Administration Regulations (EAR) with respect to software and software documentation across all vendors and customers and ensure that my client meet the legal and commercial obligations required of them regarding the distribution and management of software licences.
- Act as the Programme SME for the co-ordination and control of software media and software licences for programmes across all business units including International Business Development
- Co-ordinate the through-life transition of software from the procurement and receipt of individual Configuration Items (CIs) from vendors to their incorporation into builds and sell off to the Customer. This will include taking ownership of software inventory items and liaising with Commercial/Supply Chain
Procurement departments to manage purchased software licences for development and production release.
Desirable skills;
- Fluent in international languages - European or Arabic
- A comprehensive knowledge of all types of software licence agreements i.e. Enterprise, Concurrent, Named User etc
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- An understanding of Copyright Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations
- Exposure of working with Business ERP systems (ie. Oracle / ESOF)
- Exposure of Military Def Stan's (UK & US)
