Priority will be given to redeployees and internal applicants on this position.
We are looking for confident, articulate officers to fill this role at Harrow’s democratic heart. You will work closely with elected Councillors and officers to service key meetings.
You will manage your own portfolio of Committees (duties include arranging agendas, compiling reports, attending and minuting meetings, advising on procedure and ensuring agreed actions are followed through), as well as supporting councillor development, elections and electoral registration. Whilst working primarily within the democratic arena, you will also provide support as and when required to Elections.
A good working knowledge of local government law and procedure is essential and you must be able to provide accurate advice to both Councillors and Officers.
Many meetings take place in the evening, for which you will receive payment or time off in lieu.
