Facilities Manager – Cambridgeshire
A Facilities Manager is urgently required for this 6 month contract while my client recruits for the role on a permanent basis. You will be required to perform hands on duties and oversee the caretakers and contractor staff. You will also be required to help with the migration of the contracts over to the County Council. Other duties will include:
- Overseeing all building services are delivered for the satisfactory operation and maintenance of the offices
- Ensuring a safe, clean, comfortable, and secure working environment for service users
- Procuring and maintaining a full set of service contracts at the office and renewing when required
- Monitoring building operation to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
- Ensure the building is open and available at times convenient to service users – this may include evenings and weekends on occasions
- Overseeing improvements and alterations to the clients offices by external contractors
- Overseeing office moves and repositioning furniture, fixtures and fittings etc.
- Monitoring new legislation and actioning those appropriate to the Council
- Undertaking facilities management and service development projects as required
- Carry out inspections and arrange testing to confirm building systems functional compliance
- Maintaining building security
- Specifically; oversee cleaning, heating and air conditioning maintenance, grounds maintenance, lighting, and lift maintenance contracts,
- Budgetary control and monitoring, order raising and invoice processing
- Ensuring my client meets the needs of its service users
- Sustainability and building energy performance monitoring and reporting
You must be able to demonstrate previous experience within a facilities management role and experience of managing staff (including caretakers and contractors). A thorough understanding of contract administration and budgetary control is also a must and a good working knowledge of industrial and commercial premises services management and maintenance. You must be self motivated, with the ability to work on your own or as part of your team. You will also need a full driving licence and use of a car.
