Our client is a well known organisation based throughout Northern Ireland. A position has arisen for a LIMS Manager to join their team based in Belfast.
Role:
The LIMS Deputy System Manager will be required to assist in the day to day administration and management of the LIMS system and manage centrally directed information requests. The post will also participate in developing and refining the Scientific Unit’s activities, systems and procedures.
The role is essential to ensure that the client meets its regulatory requirements regarding sampling, analysis and reporting.
Key Activities – Duties & Responsibilities:
Regulatory Scheduling and Monitoring
Assist in the pre-scheduling of regulatory parameters to meet the requirements of: the Drinking Water (Water Supply) Regulations NI; the UWWTR Regulations NI; and Trade Effluent Charging. This is done for a calendar year in advance.
Management and coordination of remote scheduling and programming of waste samplers to meet UWWTR regulations.
Regulatory and Adhoc Reporting
Assist LIMS System Manager in the implementation of standardised and ad-hoc reporting procedures for the handling, presentation and evaluation of scientific information.
Assist manager in production of reports and presentations to advise and inform the scientific, engineering and management structures within the company on Water and Wastewater quality.
Provide day-to-day support to Environmental Regulation and Quality & Compliance Managers with particular reference to regulatory compliance and drinking water related issues.
Essential Criteria
Experience gained within the last 3 years using an identified IT System to analyse data.
Good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills in an IT environment context of using a computer system and solving problems associated with the computer system itself.
Work well as member of small team providing direct support for users and other stakeholders.
Must show skills in influencing internal and external stakeholders, developing policy and implementation of new ideas
Salary will be £11.61 per hour and will be paid weekly. This role will be a temporary position that will last for around three months with a possible extension.
