Managing Stock:
To allocate appropriate resources within the stockroom to ensure the effective completion of deliveries, whilst achieving productivity levels and meeting Company standards through:
Maintaining a full understanding of, and implementing Company objectives e.g. standards in the stockroom / delivery standards
Ensuring stockrooms are well planned/laid out and the standards are adhered to and maintained e.g. all stock is tagged, cubed and merchandised to Company standards using specialist equipment as necessary
Ensuring all deliveries are processed and productivity targets are adhered to consistently, or exceeded, by the stockroom team – controlling backlog
Ensuring appropriate controls are in place to action key tasks e.g. price corrections recalls and stock take
Ensuring the effective movement of stock within the store, (and/or warehouse and off-site location if appropriate) as applicable
Raising awareness of, and controlling stock loss within their area
Team Management:
To coach, motivate and develop the delivery team to achieve personal and store objectives through:
Effectively communicating and ensuring all stockroom staff adhere to all Company policies and procedures
Identifying and carrying out the training and development needs of the Supervisor/s and staff within the stockroom
Identifying and addressing performance issues (using the traffic light process) and non-attendance; confronting difficult issues professionally and efficiently
Ensuring all reviews and appraisals are conducted on the stockroom team
Demonstrating and maintaining security awareness whilst coaching others
Implementing appropriate incentives for the team
Liaising and communicating with store management team
Communicating store sales targets
Planning and Organisation:
To work as part of the senior management team within the store and liaise and communicate with the other Sales Managers on a daily basis to ensure they, and you, have a current understanding of issues effecting stockroom and floor.
To effectively and efficiently plan and manage key events within the stockroom operation i.e. during sale periods, recall, stock take, and to plan appropriate resources for seasonal stock builds and peak trade delivery weeks.
Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to and maintained at all times (evidence of Personal Safety Evaluation & CSC book being completed)
Keeps controllable costs within budget, ensuring effective control of all hanger and bag ordering.
Utilise store resources from all areas by communicating with all managers/supervisor.
Have contingencies in place for unexpected sizes of delivery.
