Cathcart Associates are looking for a competent and ambitious Software developer with enough experience to confidently join a small team to will play a very central part.
This company works in a niche industry, developing bespoke desktop applications and commercial products. After recently taking on a more junior developer to handle the support and bug- fixing side of things, they are now looking for a more experienced, senior developer to join this tight-knit group of software professionals.
It is a great team environment, and everyone works on a project based level, running with their own projects and getting together to brainstorm for others. With 4 developers and a development manager, culture fit and team fit are everything.
This is not a position where you will be a number in a cubicle and code all day. This company encourages freedom of thought and expression of ideas. Their developers are all ‘senior’ as the responsibility and high technical level dictates it so, and you will be too.
This position offers lots of autonomy and ownership over projects, and you should have the ability and experience to handle this.
Also, confidence in your work combined with strong interpersonal skills are a must. You will meet with a lot of end clients, often CEOs and CTOs, and you will have to present your ideas and discuss requirements with them. Furthermore, a tone of diplomacy will be required- often your and projects will need to be changed quickly due to changing specifications. Composure and the ability to adapt to this is essential.
Your main day to day responsibilities will include:
Coding in VB.Net on a SQLserver database
Full SDLC for product releases
Team and independent projects
Desktop application programming
Client interaction
