IT Project Manager
We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join our Customer Telephony team in Customer Business Systems (CBS). Customer Telephony is a department providing Programme and Project Management along with Project support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of leading edge, highly complex technical programmes & projects in line with business expectations.
This is a a permanent Project Manager position where you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a number of defined projects within Customer Telephony.
Role responsibilities:
- To deliver Project outcomes to agreed quality, timelines and budget.
- To manage project risk and issues and ensure appropriate escalation as required.
- To prepare and maintain Project resource plans and to review these plans to identify opportunities for greater effectiveness or efficiency.
- To produce and maintain (or in some cases assist in the production of) all required project documentation e.g. Requests For Work, Cost Estimates, Deal Memos, Initial and Full Business Cases, Project Initiation Documents, Project Plans, CAPEX / OPEX Forecasts, Exception Reports, Finance Registers, Change Requests, Project Closure Reports etc.
- Forecast and set budget requirements for Projects and ensure effective utilisation of available resources within budget provision.
- To monitor and anticipate workloads on a continuous basis and provide transparency of costs to business areas such that the full impact of new requirements or initiatives can be fully understood and assessed.
- Manage resources across workstreams in a matrix management environment
- To maintain an effective communication system with stakeholders and project team members.
For the role, we are looking for you to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of full project lifecycle.
- Experience of project co-ordination/ management and delivery on telephony based projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
- Knowledge in Project Management and associated methods and tools.
- One formal project management methodology used in a cross disciplined environment (PRINCE 2, APMP) is desirable.
- Some business knowledge including commercial, financial and technical awareness.
- Previous relevant experience of customer, supplier and relationship management.
- Strong people management skills and communication skills - credible at all levels with strong influencing skills.
- Self motivator with energy and drive for continuous improvement and a focus on delivering results.
You will be based in Livingston, West Lothian. Some occassional travel to other Sky sites within the UK may be required.
