An excellent opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Cisco Network professional to join an innovative network solutions provider based in Aberdeen.

My retained client Ping are a young, yet ambitious business who are recognised as the countries only indigenous Cisco Premier Partner that also holds the Advanced Unified Communications Specialisation.

Ping Network Solutions work closely with a number of select clients to deliver unrivalled engineering expertise through a range of best of breed solutions, from design through implementation and then ongoing support.

The Position

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, the successful applicant will lead and manage technical deployments/integrations of Cisco based technology solutions for a leading integrator.

Responsibilities will include the development and documentation of quality IT policies & technical standards, definition of service levels for future technical architecture and engagement & Resource Planning.

Other Duties are to include:

• Designing networks.
• Participate in large scale deployments.
• Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services.
• Provide technical and sales support for customers and clients.
• Wireless, VPN and deployments in a high availability cluster.
• Large scale custom profiling design and implementation.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert in the design, implementation and operations of other CISCO Advance Technology products especially in regard to routing and switching, security and wireless.
• Act as a mentor to other engineers.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong relationship building / consultancy skills with a solid understanding of the service delivery lifecycle.

Other duties are to include:
Technical Skills

• Experience with Routing and Switching products, including OSPF, EIGRP, Multicast Routing, QoS, and Carrier Services such as MPLS Network design and architecture.
• Cisco Products including Cisco ISR, Cisco ASR, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst would be a plus.
• Experience with CISCO Pix and ASA firewalls; IDS/IPS, VPNs.
• CCNP Certification.

Desired Skills

• WAN optimization.
• VPN technologies.
• Wireless Technologies.
• Security background.
• Voice background.
• Professional Services background.
• Additional Cisco certifications (CCDA, CCNA, CCIE etc.).

• Quick reactor who remains calm under pressure and able to prioritise workloads at all times.

The Package

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE.
