Sourcing Manager
Cambridge

My Cambridge based client is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join their Procurement Department.
The main job purpose is....Under the general direction of the Group Procurement Director, to perform complex procurement activities to support and deliver:
strategic procurement duties within areas designated by the Group Procurement Director.
identification of the right products/service providers
securing the right deals underpinned by the right contractual terms and conditions and service level agreements
clear authority and accountability arrangements which will comply with the Company's contracts policy
successful negotiation which delivers smooth transition, reduced risk and flexibility
performance measurement to increase productivity, quality or costs to Domain and Senior Leads and support the business streams.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
High value strategic products and services - Identification of strategic suppliers who will be managed through appropriate engagement and governance models to develop and support continued and improved relationship management and service delivery throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
High-value commodity products and services - Deliver service continuity through performance measurement and, where appropriate, automation of provision of the services and products through the development of e-catalogues and the use of reverse auctions. Monitor the market to ensure the best source of supply is secured.
Ensure the security of supply through longer term contracts joined with appropriate relationship models whilst optimising knowledge transfer and/or developing alternative sources of supply or replacing our dependency with alternative products or services.
Lead the implementation of category management outputs, ensuring the appropriate process is in identified in order to migrate the strategies to business as usual activities.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Customer focus and strong interpersonal skills at all levels of business organisation
Ability to build successful relationships across the business and influence colleagues in regard to commercial decisions
Good organisational skills – awareness of project requirements
Good knowledge and experience of procurement gained through experience in a buying or commercial role and ability to lead negotiations
Good understanding of the following types of agreements (but not limited to)
Services
Software licences
Hardware and support
Consultancy
Novation and assignment
Non-disclosure / Confidentiality
The need to analyse financial data, balance sheets, reports and cost centres
Knowledge of standard SLAs and KPIs
Proven experience of rationalising the supply base to generate cost savings
Experience of Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Extensive contract experience and ability to draft and prepare legal documents
High degrees of literacy, numeracy and accuracy
A degree level qualification or working towards CIPS Professional Stage Diploma
