JOB PURPOSE – OVERALL SUMMARY

To assist with onsite operational aspects of the project, whilst learning to operate various components of Managed Pressure Drilling, Underbalanced Drilling equipment. To maintain a vigilant presence whilst directed by the Supervisor or relevant Senior Operator. To become familiar with and ensure that all QHSE and procedural issues are followed during the project. The Junior Field Operator will be required to work in Aberdeen base on occasions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The assistance of equipment rig-up and rig-down on each well under the guidance of the Supervisor.

To assist with various duties around the managed pressure drilling choke manifold, data acquisitions system, rotating control head, separation equipment, fluid handling and transfer systems, ensuring that all procedures are followed in accordance with the safety precautions and practises.

To assist with and prepare all corrosion monitoring equipment under the guidance of the Supervisor as well as the GC-Tracer (gas detection system) equipment.

To maintain a constant presence around the rotating control head, choke manifold and separation system, assisting with sampling and manual data recording.

To assist during the maintenance and system checks that will be performed on the wellsite equipment under the guidance of the Supervisor.

To assist with all repair, maintenance and operating actions – under the guidance of the Supervisor.

To advise and assist the Supervisor with any pre-activity safety meeting action points that should be discussed.

To fully learn and ensure the compliance of, and the implementation, of all QHSE procedures during the operational activity.

To monitor the operation shut down, choke manifold and separation activities as well and learn and understand the MFC system and control systems under the guidance of the Supervisor.To assist in the notification and recording of needed / used consumables, in accordance with regular system checks during the drilling operations, ensuring that all relevant details are recorded and reviewed by the Supervisor.

Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT JOB
This role requires travel to Operational sites throughout Europe, Sub-Sahara Africa occasionally Worldwide and to Aberdeen base for equipment preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• GCSE Education.
• Computer Literate in Microsoft packages.
• Literate.
• Numerate.

Preferred

• Technical diploma.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE

Essential

• Previous experience in the oilfield environment.
• Experience in pressure control and/ or drilling techniques.

Preferred

• Pressure Engineering, Data Acquisition, Drilling and / or well testing experience.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential

• Good knowledge and comfortable with computers and various software.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and listening).
