Manufacturing & Systems Engineer

You will play a key role in the continued success of the company, progressing and developing the Manufacturing collaboration tools, systems and processes that will result in an accurate manufacturing process plan being deployed to the factory floor via Manufacturing Execution Systems, to the highest possible standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly flexible, motivated, skilled, committed, dedicated and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineering team. You will also work closely with the Production Design, Global Information Systems, Operations and Logistic planning teams.

The Role:
Enhance the existing MES (Manufacturing Execution System) applications capturing Manufacturing and operational requirements to support GIS (Global Information Services) through design and development phases.

Lead the implementation of all manufacturing related integrated computer software and ensure the application satisfies requirements.

Develop and document robust test cases and plans for performing User Acceptance Testing.

Record/resolve issues into the formalised feedback mechanism for resolution.

Develop and document all supporting processes, providing local work instructions for end users and training where necessary.

Be the Subject Matter Expert for Teamcenter Engineering VPP (Virtual Process Planning) and Manufacturing Execution Systems and provide support for the Advanced Planning & Tactical Manufacturing Engineering teams.

Work with Corporate Manufacturing Systems team to develop Teamcenter VPP and collaboration tools for the engine division facilities.

Understand and develop the Manufacturing Engineering releasing strategy for the IPSD (Industrial Power Systems Division), in preparation for Business Transformation and MACH1 deployment (Global Common System & Process Strategy).

Develop and perform data cleansing activities on MFGPro routings and Manufacturing BoMs.

Create and maintain the Manufacturing BoM in Teamcenter VPP ensuring it is constantly updated with effectivity and statuses.

Work across multiple business functions, both local and globally, to ensure upstream data inputs to Teamcenter VPP meet Manufacturing Engineering planning requirements.

Develop and implement the use of Simulation & 3D modelling tools & techniques for the purpose of validating Manufacturing equipment and processes.

Requirements:
Ideally a degree in a related discipline together with relevant experience. However, candidates who do not have the formal qualification but can demonstrate extensive job related experience may also be considered.

Essential:
Have an excellent background/ experience in a Manufacturing/ process oriented environment.
Good understanding of Product Life Cycle Management concepts and their application in the area of Mechanical Design, Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Routings, Product change/ configuration management and collaborative product & process development.
Working knowledge or experience in the development of Manufacturing bill of materials and routings.
Possess excellent computing skills, and be competent in the use of Teamcenter Engineering, Manufacturing, VisMockup.
Have working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as MFGPro & SAP.

Desirable:
Working knowledge or experience in CBS (SAP).
Experience of 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD and ProEngineer.
Have experience of using Discrete Event Simulation modelling software such as Plant Simulation.
Working knowledge or experience in engine scheduling and releasing processes.
Knowledge of implemented Business Transformation and MACH 1 processes.
Good in troubleshooting Teamcenter Engineering related problems.

Have hands on approach to problem solving within a technical environment.

Possess interpersonal, professional communication, teamwork and leadership skills.

Be self-motivated, energetic, dynamic, flexible and constantly positively challenge.

Good organisation skills to plan, structure and lead cross functional reviews.
