The Position
We are currently looking for a high calibre experienced Senior Loss Prevention Engineer to join our team:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Senior Loss Prevention Engineer is responsible for the development of management systems to protect the integrity of all KCA DEUTAG owned and operated Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU’s). Additionally the role encompasses monitoring and verifying the effective implementation of these systems, and co-ordinating their continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
To provide technical support to KCA DEUTAG MODU operations (both in offices and offshore) in order to enhance safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
To act as principle KCA DEUTAG Equipment & Maintenance (MODUs) Department representative on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality Assurance (QA) matters and to develop interfaces with external parties (e.g. other corporate functions, Clients, Third Party Agencies and Regulatory bodies) to promote confidence in KCA DEUTAG’s ability to meet requirements in these areas.
Co-ordinate the development and continued implementation of HSE and QA programmes and initiatives within the Marine Technical Group and act as a focal point for same. Collect, collate and communicate information on the effectiveness of such programmes / initiatives for management review.
Develop and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental Cases for KCA DEUTAG MODUs, where required, including participation in risk assessment studies and the development of related Performance Standards for MODU operations.
Co-ordinate the production of contract specific documentation such as Interface Documents, Emergency Response Plans, SOPEPs, Waste Management Plans, HSE Improvement Plans, Security Plans etc. for each rig contract.
Perform planned reviews and assessments on requirements to ensure the maintenance, development and ongoing improvement of management systems documentation and programmes for MODU operations.
Establish methods, programmes and ensure the provision of suitably trained resources to conduct risked based and quantifiable audits / inspections / reviews. Collate information from such audits / inspections / reviews and communicate to management for review.
Log and co-ordinate the response to all Field Support enquiries to ensure the effective and timely identification and implementation of solutions.
Review all HSE incidents on KCA DEUTAG operated MODUs to ensure that lessons learned are identified, effectively communicated and corrective / preventive actions implemented on KCA DEUTAG owned / operated assets.

Personal Attributes:
Engineering Degree
Experience with Risk Assessments Methods Knowledge of ISM and ISO 9001
