Linux Security Specialist

Client:
We are partnering with this high profile client to hire an industry leading Linux Security specialist for a high visibility world class security team.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work for my clients threat & Vulnerability Management team. The individual will be working with different technologies and methodologies within information security. They will assist this group with implementing and configuring security threat monitoring technologies.

Role will include;

Creation and update of Linux Security hardening techniques for all production Linux systems.
Continued Compliance and security management of Linux systems
Monitoring of all Linux production systems in the EU, creation of dashboards that analyse and create alerts based on policy violation & business rules.

The ideal candidate:
Working knowledge of SIEM technology and Information Security methodology or similar i.e CSSP level.
Experience with Anti Malware Technologies
Linux system administration experience (Red Hat)
Systems hardening and security patching background

Other nice to haves include;

Shell / Perl scripting
Solid awareness of Internet protocols and associated services (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SMTP etc)
Experience of security investigation / forensics on Linux OS
Experience with working in a team setting, able to take direction well, detail oriented and have a good understanding of information security from concept, design to implementation and monitoring.

Other Desirable skills

Working experience of Intrusion Detection Systems and associated monitoring.
Strong understanding of information security engineering processes, architecture methodologies, industry best practices and governance models (SANS, GIAC, COBIT, etc) and generally accepted security principles .
