Windows XP/7, Office 2007, VmWare, Desktop Support. My client, a global organisation and leader in its field, is looking for a Desktop Support Analyst. The Desktop Support Analyst will join an international business with a number of business units operating within the country to provide a range of solutions and services primarily to the UK Government and defence (but not entirely so).

Description:
Resolve Helpdesk calls using ITSM Remedy whilst adhering to agreed SLAs where possible.

Maintain asset tracking database.

Build and maintain workstations, laptops and desktops, both Dell and HP.

Participate in large tasks as required such as software refresh programme, mail server migration and hardware refresh programmes.

Required Skills:
o In depth knowledge and experience of Windows XP Pro / Windows 7 is essential

o Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 essential

o Support experience of remote connectivity (VPN) tools is essential

o Experience of working in defence industry and dealing with UKR/UKS data

o Self starter with willingness to learn from colleagues

o Must be a good team player and able to use own initiative

o Ability to mentor and instruct junior members of the desktop team

o Must have good problem determination and communication skills

o Full driving license essential

o In depth knowledge and experience of VMWare View 4.* and Virtual Centre

Desired Skills:
o Experience of Active Directory administration

o DHCP and network connectivity troubleshooting

o Integrated application support, such as Java, Adobe Acrobat & Internet Explorer

o VMWare Server support and administration

o Experience with patching tools such as WSUS and SMS

o Dynamic and flexible "can-do" attitude
