Our client is part of a multi-national US owned, Fortune 200 company. They develop, manufacture and market technically advanced lubricants to industries worldwide. Their success is based on building first class relationships with their customers, by providing a complete solution to their needs, delivered via superior technical sales and after sales support.
An opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Development Chemist to join them to assist the R&D Manager in the administration of all technical activities.
As Senior Development Chemist, you will form part of their technical team and commit to the delivery of new products that supports the company's business plan. The role includes working on projects covering research and product management and you will work closely with manufacturing to develop improved processes and methods and thereby aim to reduce cost and improve product quality. You will also manage any patents or design registrations approved by the Management Executive and assist with managing customer's product complaints and any other technical liability claims.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in chemistry and have a proven track record of demonstrating success / managing multiple projects. With the ability to multi task and work under own initiative, you will have strong formulation and product testing skills and be a strong and practical chemist. Furthermore, you will have a strong commercial awareness to ensure you can work with marketing strategy and ensure delivery against budget.
Candidates with demonstrable product development experience in the metalworking and / or industrial lubricants industry are highly desirable.
