PurposeTo configure, commission, operate and maintain the Electricity North West (ENWL) corporate and operational data networks and all associated assets and services.Principal accountabilities:•To provide day to day network management and fault analysis on the ENWL operational data network•To provide day to day network management and fault analysis on the ENWL corporate data network and associated up-stream provisions•To provide day to day network management and fault analysis on the ENWL Telecomms management networks•To configure and commission corporate office infrastructure including all access and distribution architecture•To configure and commission IP telephony services with all associated QoS applications•To configure and commission the sub station data network build as part of the ENW21CN network architecture•To support and maintain data network management tools, maintaining all associated device build and management•To construct and provide management reporting from network management tools and systemsKnowledge and skillsThe successful applicant will have:•Detailed working knowledge of the Juniper networks operating system•Knowledge of Cisco Systems operating system•Knowledge of IP routing protocols; OSPF (open shortest path first) and BGP (border gateway protocol)•MPLS (multiprotocol label switching)•SNMP (simple network management protocol)•Good understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS (intrusion detection system) etc•IP Telephony (internet protocol telephony)•ITIL (IT infrastructure library) framework•Good understanding of telecommunications infrastructure•Ability to provide day to day network management utilising available Experience of SNMP management platform and command line tools across a varied product set•Experience of fault finding within an IP environment•Experience of creating, raising and executing changes within the ITIL model•Experience of utilising management platforms for the creation of •management reports against existing service level agreements•A proven track record in the installation, commissioning, operations and management of enterprise data networks, utilising both Juniper and Cisco products and services•A proven track record of the delivery and maintenance of networks supporting IP based telephony solutionsClose Date25 May 2012
