Assistant Manager
Qualifications/ Experience:
The individual will have held a Assistant Manager role in a similar business of high volume.Having or the willingness to build a sound commercial knowledge of the hospitality industry is a must.To hold the ability to gain a personal alcohol license if so required.
Assistant Manager - Role Objectives:
To assist the General Manager in developing and growing the restaurant business through the provision of excellent product, ambience and through the development of a customer service orientated team.To deputise in the absence of the General Manager and ensuring that all the following areas are maintained.
Principle Duties/ Responsibilities of the Assistant Manager : To assist the General Manager in all the following responsibilities:
People, to assist the GM in:
- Implementing cost effective recruitment solutions that build customer focused and dedicated teams to meet the business needs.
- Carrying out appraisals and implement supportive action plans that develop individuals and improve business performance.
- Train, coach, mentor and motivate teams via monthly team meetings and via the company’s dedicated training programme ‘Academia de Desarrollo’.
- Attending Area Meetings if so required and feed back any relevant information to the management team and team members immediately and via monthly team meetings.
- Managing and resolve team member performance issues through the performance management process (including probationary reviews).
- Assisting in ensuring that all team members and management training is maintained up to date with the provision of our e-learning system and all H&S compliancy training is completed prior to practical training as outlined.
- Ensuring the General is notified of any performance issues immediately, e.g. lateness, discrepancies, incidents and takes action, as appropriate.
Sales & Marketing, to assist the GM in:
- Developing, implement and drive promotional activity in line with business requirements.
- Monitoring competitor activity in order to ensure promotional activity remains competitive.
- Maximising all sales opportunities to deliver the best possible sales performance.
- Driving a current and active sales plan.
- Developing and grow database through networking.
Profit, to assist the GM in:
- Managing the profitability of the business, controlling all associated costs.
- Achieving and control food and drink margins.
- Compliancy with cash and stock policy procedures to meet audit requirements.
- Ensuring all the team personally recommends products to increase profit.
Service Quality, to assist the GM in:
- Ensuring that the highest possible levels of customer service and standards are delivered by all management and team members, at all times.
- Delivering effectively the successful HOLA customer service programme.
- Holding pre-session briefings as appropriate.
Compliance, to assist the GM in:
- Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all relevant legislation requirements are met, e.g. health and safety (including risk assessments), food hygiene, employment and licensing legislation.
- Compliance with premises license requirements.
- Reporting all accidents/incidents through the correct procedure.
