An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for an experienced Engineer Technician based at Unilever's manufacturing site based in Swansea. This is a full time, temp role for initially 3 months after which the role will be reviewed paying £29 000pa depending on experience. This role offers the opportunity to also earn an average of £4 795 p/a in overtime. Initially the role will be carried out on a day shift but will move to double days shift pattern once fully trained. The double day shift pattern pays a 10% shift allowance.
Main Purpose of Job:
- Capable of understanding, developing and carrying out improvements on current equipment.
- To effectively carry out, and contribute positively to, a preventative, planned maintenance system.
- To evaluate problems/faults/non conformances and to effect the necessary repairs, both in the short and long term.
- To optimise equipment/services/machinery to the applicable performance standard.
- To work in a manner that embraces right first time.
- To be able to work along side other departments, aware of their requirements/standards, and to work towards a common business objective.
- To absorb and be aware of developments in technology.
- To undertake activities based (not only on their core skill but) in other skills areas to the fullest extent of their capacity.
- To demonstrate a high level of skill, competence and ability through their unique field of technical expertise.
- To efficiently, conscientiously and effectively use materials during their daily work, including stock control, choice, value and purpose.
- Effectively carry out all duties, working to legal, Company, personal and recommended safety standards.
- Undertake their work with pride, diligently, conscious of the environment, both local to their work and generally.
- To understand the Company quality standards and to impart this.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are logged and recorded.
- To reduce waste, in all its forms.
- To embrace all Health and Safety aspects required within their roles and working environment
- To ensure all work is carried out as specified by the H+S regulations.
Qualifications / Training Requirements:
1.Indentured Apprenticeship.
2.ONC or equivalent
3.3 years experience.
