Essential Functions of the Job:
Represents the department to internal and external organizations; makes presentations and sponsors firm-wide strategic initiatives
Maintain strategic vendor relationships and vendor roadmap awareness across all architectural domains
Owns a strong network of organizational and industry relationships
Owns the department - oversees people, budget, and outcomes
Sets strategic direction of the department to align with business objectives
Develops and owns a cohesive, global architectural vision that provides value to the firm (141K Employees, 144 Countries, 700 Locations) by enabling competitive advantage through process and technology differentiators
Key influencer and sponsor of strategic investment decisions with a total volume of approx 250m USD p.a.
Develop and implement ongoing communication plan to educate key stakeholders of the purpose and benefits of Enterprise Architecture
Influences key business decisions and initiatives actions for the benefit of the firm
Delivers clear and regular communication of architectural vision, roadmaps and standards to Business Executives and IT Services
Recommends and implements architecture governance structure and compliance activities
Inspires Team Members and others to follow a long term vision
Determines staffing needs and participates in recruiting
Able to align, source, coach, and lead senior level direct reports

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Manages in all organisational directions and give staff the authority needed to carry out responsibilities
Very convincing in his cause, can inspire his people and others, technical and business alike, even outside hierarchical competencies
Ability to lead a team with a multitude of different people including business customers, IT project managers and IT engineers to balance demands
Outstanding skills to influence and negotiate project results
Self starter attitude, working independently under almost no guidance
Common sense, courage to lead and a good sense of humour
Curiosity, thirst for knowledge and ambition are important characteristics, robust self-consciousness and a high energy level are as well
Broadly recognized as a thought leader, innovator and subject matter expert across the entire Enterprise Architecture

An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Extensive experience in a related role
Supervision Responsibilities:
Manage others in multiple locations and have the confidence to handle performance issues as they arise
Supervisor of all members of the Enterprise Architecture function worldwide
Proposes and Reviews Salary increases and Promotions in line with global and local policies
Effectively delegates work to Department Managers and ensures successful delivery
Works independently with occasional alignment with Global Strategy and Architecture Leads
Sets strategic direction of the department to align with overall IT Services objectives
Recognizes and manages risks in area of responsibility, putting in place appropriate mitigation plans and communicating these to avoid surprises with key stakeholders
Deliver results through others, also leveraging the ability to lead through influence
Other Requirements:
A degree in Business, Computer Science, a related discipline or equivalent work experience
Extensive international management experience, leading a culturally diverse and geographically dispersed team
Relevant experience with the analysis of complex multi-system enterprises
Experience with EA methodologies and frameworks, including TOGAF, Zachman, and SOA etc
Regular travel, mainly to Western Europe and East Coast USA
Overtime may be required as per country overtime policy
