Position: Lecturer in Atomistic SimulationSchool/Department: School of Mathematics and PhysicsReference: 12/102141Closing Date: Friday 31 August 2012Salary: £32,901 to £48,246 per annum (including contribution points)Anticipated Interview Date: Week commencing 24 September 2012JOB PURPOSE:To undertake research in Theory and/or Simulation of Condensed Matter systems, in line with the School’s research strategy, to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and to contribute to School administration/outreach activity.MAJOR DUTIES:Research:1. To undertake research within the Atomistic Simulation Centre with an emphasis on Electronic Structure and/or Statistical Mechanics, applied to problems in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology and/or their interfaces.2. Develop the research activities of the School by sustaining a personal research plan, and by managing and undertaking research activities in accordance with specific collaborative projects within the Centre.3. Sustain a high quality publication record by publishing in refereed journals and presenting at conferences to promote individual research and to enhance the School’s research profile.4.
