Renfrewshire Council are seeking to recruit a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) mechanic for
our successful Modern Apprenticeship Programme, commencing in August
2012.
You will be based at Underwood Road, Transport Services Depot. You will also attend college to work towards achievement of a Level 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification in Repair & Maintenance (Heavy Goods).
You must be resident within the Renfrewshire area, aged between 16 and 19 of age at the start of the apprenticeship. You must also possess a minimum of three standard grades at grade 3 in English, Maths and a Technical subject, for example, Craft & Design, Technical Studies, Practical Skills or Graphic Communications.
Applicants who meet the essential criteria will be required to pass a series of aptitude tests. If you are short leeted as part of the selection process, you will be required to attend an interview.
Successful applicants will secure a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship and may lead to positive opportunities for permanent employment with Renfrewshire Council.
Renfrewshire Council offer competitive salaries which are based on a percentage of the time served tradespersons salary rate with annual increments throughout the apprenticeship.
