Job Description:
The organisation provides managed services to local authorities and associated public sector bodies. The company exists to provide focus to the challenge of supporting local public sector organisations in continuing to serve their local customers.
We are recruiting an Estimator role with Estimating and Business Development responsibilities within the Midlands area for highways maintenance, street lighting and general civils operations.
The role will be based from our Coventry office

- ONC level in engineering discipline, or GCSE Maths or Science (or equivalent).
- HNC/Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with excellent IT and communications skills.
- Self motivated and commercially aware.
- Ability to identify risks and opportunities within tender documents and understand implications.
- Good understanding of highways, civils and street lighting marketplaces.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to company objectives by meeting personal performance objectives and targets.
- Identification, recording and monitoring of business opportunities and prospects within the MIS Database and maintenance of accurate records for monitoring purposes.
- Preparation of quotations, including both pricing and commercial aspects, to deadlines utilizing the company estimating & tendering process to ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all functions (H&S, QA and Environmental).
- Build and maintain effective relationships with existing and prospective customers identifying opportunities to grow and optimize future prospects.
- Develop effective working relationships with Opco personnel, business partners, suppliers and stakeholders to improve and enhance performance.
- Comply with the company’s risk framework to identify and manage the required outcome of potential risks and opportunities on each tender.
- Involvement in the tender negotiation process to successfully secure future Contracts.
- Handover / control / retain all relevant pricing and Contractual documentation.
- Support the claims process as necessary in order to assist in the resolution of Contractual disputes.
- Optimise account retention levels and re-bid business in line with business plan.
- Utilising the MIS Database ensure accurate and timely record keeping for reporting purposes.

Skills
