Hours of work are RLC standard dayshift:- Mon – Thu 8.00am - 4.30pm Fri 8.00am - 1.00pm Travel to work allowance of 6p per mile, to and from work.Job Purpose: To provide general engineering support to the various manufacturing cellsMain Tasks & Responsibilities:Use machine experience and CAD/CAM to generate methods of manufacture and provide high quality CNC multi-axis turn/mill programs Design and specify new or modified tooling and fixturesEngineering process improvement; identify, implement and support continuous improvement activities Scope and assess new work packages for all aspects of manufactureSpecify equipment and facilities to meet the company manufacturing requirementsDefine and maintain the process flow for new and existing products and assist in definition of cell layoutUse New Production Introduction methodology to ensure smooth process and product change activitySupport and develop manufacturing launch plans Provide technical support to other departments and functions, e.g. Production, Purchasing, CI and Quality Provide input to customer designsManage the change control process and create/maintain BOMs, technical instructions and proceduresIdentify, promote and introduce technical innovation and improvements Assist with operator training in new processes or changes in processRespond to customer concerns in a professional and timely mannerDevelop suitable measures for projects and cross fertilise successes within Engineering Department Participate in cross functional activity and assist in the smooth running of the Engineering departmentSupport Company and Department objectives Essential skills:The ideal candidate –Will be educated to HNC standard or higher in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline and have a strong experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environmentMust be able to demonstrate commitment to timescales, a flexible and hands on approach and have experience of liaising closely with customers and suppliersMust be able to communicate complex engineering concepts and ideas at all levels in organisationKnowledge or practical experience in one of the following areas: CNC Machining, metal fabrication/ treatments/protective finishing or assemblyFor full job description and specification please click hereTo Apply Please click the apply button below to be directed to our careers page.Tel no: 02894 451400Closing Date: Friday 17th August 2012 at 10.00 a.m.
