To assist with the reporting and control of all bookkeeping, accounting and financial functions within Zonal and its subsidiaries.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase Ledger
Process the following according to Company procedures and systems:
Matching invoices to purchase orders.
Coding invoices.
Data input.
Supplier queries.
Supplier statement reconciliation.
Processing payment runs (BACS).
Month End procedures.
Payroll
Ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time, and collate all necessary information in order to do so.
Process payroll information according to Company procedures and systems.
Ensure that all employees receive pay slips, and deal with any queries arising from payment issues.
Control advances on wages in cash, and ensure that any such payments are recouped by the Company.
Cashiering
Control payment of petty cash, pay out petty cash payments, and maintain records.
Reconciliations (monthly).
Banking
Daily banking.
Reconciliations.
Assist the External Auditor by providing data and records, and conducting any necessary investigations.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
Minimum of 2 years working in a finance office environment.
Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills.
Experience of implementing and following procedures.
Numerate, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
Planning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for self and others and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.

CONTEXT
The Finance Assistant is based within the Finance and Administration Department, and is directly responsible to the Financial Controller. All staff in the department are ultimately responsible to the Finance Director.
The job holder is responsible for payroll for all Company employees, and also provides bookkeeping services to the Company, its divisions and subsidiaries.

Sage payroll – windows
Navision Financials
Telebank – BACS payments, reconciliations, and payroll.
Office hours are 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
