We need volunteers to support disabled children to access fun and challenging activities which promote independence and life skills in and around Lichfield. If you have an open mind, energy and enthusiasm then please ring and change a disabled child’s life.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
To accompany disabled children to access short break leisure activities, including canoeing, fishing, dancing, arts and crafts

To work with activity providers to support disabled children at clubs and activities

To provide support to Aiming High half term and summer activities as appropriate

To act as a buddy to disabled children

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Good listening skills

Reliable and able to work on your own initiative

Ability to relate to disabled children and young people

Ability to talk to people from all backgrounds

Be able to work on own initiative

Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Age 18 or over

The role is subject to a CRB check

Out of pocket traveling expenses will be provided

Willingness to undertake training, review and internal meetings as required
