COMPANY
My client is one of the regions leading contractors with an impressive history of delivering design and build projects on retail, government and commercial builds. They currently have a need for an experienced Health & Safety Officer, operating on a freelance contract, to be based on a major new build construction project in Belfast.
ROLE
The successful candidate will be required to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:
- to ensure all company HSEQ and fire policies are implemented and maintained on site
- carry out site inspections
- conduct tool box talks
- to investigate all accidents and follow RIDDOR where appropriate
- to maintain the companys accident data and procedure statistics
- to assist the HSEQ Manager with the completion of CDM coordinator duties (2007 reg)
- to anticipate and resolve technical ambiguities and communicate problems to the HSEQ Manager when necessary
- to implement the procedures detailed in the project quality plans and method statements
- to assist the company in continually improving their ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations
Applicants must hold the NEBOSH General Qualification as a minimum qualification and this must also include fire prevention training. You must also have a demonstrable working history of conducting internal audits, induction training, risk management and method statements.
