Here at Amazon we are currently looking to hire a Payroll Specialist to join the HR team at our Marston Gate Fulfilment centre (FC), just off J13 of the M1 near Milton Keynes.

Reporting into the HR Manager, this individual will support all UK and Ireland FC and Customer Service payroll requirements. Working in partnership with another pay roll specialist this busy role provides payroll support to over 1,600 hourly Associates on a weekly schedule. Having a high level of accuracy and systems ability, this individual will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels both in written and verbal ways, whilst working to tight weekly deadlines.

Basic Qualifications

Data and Business Process Management – ensure accuracy and completeness of data by:
(re) defining/ enhancing process to ensure effective HR and line manager reporting

Providing data entry and verification support:
Schedule and data input into AT Server Time Clock System
Provide correction mode assistance
Define/ enhance process to ensure data entry process is streamlined and efficient
Validate data integrity by running audit reports
Identify areas to enhance function
Ensure up to date and accurate statistics are maintained and that AT Server, Peoplesoft and Oracle ( internal HR databases) are kept up to date at all times, furnish managers with AT Server training
Produce regular reports (e.g. workforce, attrition) and additional ad hoc reports and analysis
Training and support for line managers to ensure compliance with AT Server guidelines
Manage and audit payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment of Associate population
Functional management of Payroll on a weekly basis, including SSP, SMP, SPP, calculating NI, bonus payments, monitor absence, starters and finishers
Deal with any payroll queries that employees may have
Support HR team to ensure correct data flow from Peoplesoft to AT Server
Inform payroll of details of new employees and keep them updated with employee changes of address, bank details, etc…
Generate a Stock Slate from the Peoplesoft database at the beginning of the each week
Administer aspects of the employee stock option process including distribution and collection of completed grants and inputting relevant information into the Peoplesoft Database
Maintain the accuracy of information in Peoplesoft and to key changes as and when necessary. (terminations, shift changes, address changes etc)
Assist in the implementation and operation of all HR and Company Policies and Procedures
Assist with updating company documents as and when necessary to ensure that documents comply with current legislation
Communicate and liaise with internal and external legal on payroll matters as required .
Administer and advise on employee benefits
Communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with all Associates and Managers at all levels to explain queries and concerns relating to all payroll matters and other HR matters as advised.
Provide weekly reports in the following areas: incoming new hire information, weekly headcount report. Provide a weekly reminder report of all returnees from all Leave of Absence’s one week in advance of return date and any current or new Leave of Absences. During company-wide process rollouts provide all necessary reports for analysis and calibration on a weekly basis
Provide monthly reports in the following areas: termination analysis report, missing stock option paperwork report, missing performance review report, 6 month contingency workforce report
Develop and maintain suitable communication processes to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information across FC
Assist with the induction of new employees
Support the HR Manager and undertake any other tasks as and when required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience/Skills required:
Experience of working in HR in a fast paced logistics, manufacturing or production environment- essential
Ideally significant experience with Payroll systems in an internationally acting companies non-unionised / unionised (desirable not essential)
Experience of owning/ fulfilling a HR Assistant payroll function utilising; AT Server; Peoplesoft; Oracle – (desirable not essential)
Technical Expertise- in-depth knowledge of HR and Payroll systems; data processing; advanced computer literacy (Excel, Outlook, Word); data analysis using database reporting tools- Essential We can offer you the chance to work with and for great people in a company where you can really make a difference.
