Systems support specialist. Excellent technical skills combined with ability to communicate with users, understand their requirements and support them in the use of key systems. Skills required include MS SQL Server, MS CRM, MS SharePoint and MS Server and Desktop operating systems. Experience of VMWare would be an advantage.
You will join a small IT team which supports about 150 users based in London and elsewhere in the UK. We have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010 and have completed virtualisation of our server and desktop infrastructure. Over the last 18 months, we have also implemented MS CRM v4 and SharePoint 2010 as well as a bespoke web-based system to manage party and election finance.
You will join at a time when we will be concentrating on consolidation and getting the best from our recent investments in software and systems.
You will work with users to understand their issues and requirements and use your technical skills to provide them with the solutions and support they need.
You will be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels which means you will need to understand the Commission’s business and the way that it works.
You will be able to take user requirements and turn them into technical solutions which can either be created in-house or by our suppliers who you will help to manage.
You will also work closely with the infrastructure and help desk staff to ensure that we provide an excellent level of service to our users.
You will enjoy working in a small team, be prepared to take on a wide variety of tasks and manage your time effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for someone keen to exploit and widen their knowledge and experience of key Microsoft technologies.
