POSITION PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Subsea 7 currently has a requirement for a Field Engineer. Based within the UK Operations function, the role provides a centre of expertise for the vessel equipment characteristics and for the vessel operational capabilities.
The Field Engineer will become familiar with all aspects of the assigned vessel installation systems and techniques and will act as a focal point between the project teams and the vessel equipment department. The post will conventionally be allocated to a particular vessel, however may also be relocated to other vessels to assist with further training or to support overall resource utilisation. The successful candidate will join the North Sea Field Engineer pool and is required to perform his/her duty for the Company at the Company's vessels and office.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Engineer provides assistance to the project in preparation of the project execution onboard the vessel, check the equipment before and during the mobilisation, and support the project offshore. The Field Engineer will also, on the request of projects work onshore assisting with the preparation of tenders and projects, bringing their practical experience to benefit the project team.
- To become totally familiar with the vessel's capability and ensure all engineering documentation and drawings appropriate to the vessel systems are maintained onboard to reflect the current status of the vessel.
- Act as the point of contact between the oncoming project and the vessel to ensure that engineering has been conducted taking into account vessel installation preferences and limitations.
- To provide engineering design and calculation services appropriate to modifications/developments of the shipboard systems.
- To keep up-to-date drawings of the ship and its installation system configurations for each project and provide this information to future project users of the asset. To feedback changes to the SOM and appropriate engineering disciplines so that all drawings are kept updated to the most recent versions.
- To continuously develop and improve generic procedures for the various types of installation and feedback the lessons learnt into the engineering disciplines.
- To identify problem areas on aspects of the systems for improvement to increase the efficiency of the installation processes.
- To assist the project team by undertaking the creation of task plans.
- Ensure a comprehensive logbook during the project work is maintained to assist handover between shifts, handover between replacements and in compilation of as-built books.
- Preparing handover notes for another Field Engineer.
- Engineering and technical delivery of their assigned project scope in accordance with the requirements of the Management System. The principal processes covering engineering are the Design and Construction Engineering (DCE) suite of documents.
- Actively participate in Project HSE processes.
- Participation with the PMR and EDS processes as applicable.
- Identifying improvements to the engineering process.
- Act as a Mentor for a Graduate Engineer's as requested.
