We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cognos/BI expert to join the BT team in NI.

Based in Belfast and working with the Major Accounts team, you will be involved in supporting significant delivery projects. The technical team are currently upgrading the entire end technical solution and incorporated into this may be a requirement to be involved with new development as well as support.

Key Responsibilities:
You will work as part of the on-site applications support team for a large scale public sector finance solution;

Ensure all assigned incidents are progressed within Service Level Agreement(SLA);

Adherence to ITIL service processes (incident, change, problem etc.)

Build and maintain good working relationships with our clients;

Proactive identification of application and system issues and timely escalation to the support manager;

You will work alongside the Business Director and Applications Architect, to evolve an upgrade roadmap for the current IT solution which will incorporate the following applications:

Oracle 11.5.10.2 to Oracle 12.1

Cognos 8 to Cognos 10

Readsoft - this aspect of the role will involve the successful applicant focussing on the Cognos application but may require input to technical meetings with the other work-stream leads in Oracle and Readsoft.

When change requests are raised on the reporting solution, the application team member will be able to define and take business requirements through the software lifecycle to produce a final reporting solution.

The successful candidate will become the expert on customisations on the reporting solution, ensuring effective and complete transition has occurred from the associated delivery teams;

Ownership of associated requirements, design and functional documents, ensuring that these documents are updated after each change to be kept current. The team member must adhere to configuration management standards.

Skills/Expertise:
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate strong experience and responsibility for applications support, integration and delivery gained from previous contracts;

You will be able to demonstrate how you have interpreted business requirements for a large scale client in the private and/or public sectors to arrive at a successful IT solution;

You will have very strong experience in application development and support, gained on large scale private and public sector IT programmes;

The successful applicant must have demonstrable evidence of excellent client negotiation and communication skills;

You will have strong experience and knowledge of Oracle Workflow, Oracle Financials 11i to Oracle Financials Release 12, Application Development and Design experience in Cognos 8.2;Use of P-apps, framework manager, report and analysis studio.

Good relational database management experience and maintenance of data marts

Adaptable and flexible individual with proven ability to work on own initiative;

It is highly desirable that the candidate has upgrade experience from Cognos 8.2 to Cognos 10;

It is desirable to have knowledge of best practices in Incident, Problem and Release management and general ITIL best practise experience.
