The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the University’s cultural and organisational development. This job requires somebody who can bring new ideas and creative thinking as well as robust Organisational Design experience to an already successful enterprise.
Role requirements
- Provide transformational and inspirational Leadership of the HR Department
- To lead the delivery of the HR Strategy, Aston People 2020, and to ensure its continual and critical review
- To deliver an outstanding HR service to HR’s customers across the University and to implement strategic HR projects
- To provide senior leadership, consulting support and advice on major organisational change, including the process of change, organisational design, and culture change
- To play a proactive role as a member of the University’s Senior Managers’ Group
- To be a role model internally of the Aston Values, and an ambassador externally for the University
Person Specification
- Experienced HR professional and leader seasoned in operating and influencing at senior organisational levels
- A proven track record of delivering progressive HR strategies and a catalyst for change
- Prolific and comfortable networker who can facilitate analysing best-practice and introducing innovative and inspirational ways of driving the HR Strategy f
- Current knowledge of employment law and best practice
- Experience of working in a unionised environment would be beneficial
- A track record of bringing about considerable cultural change across at least one complex organisation
- Previous experience of large-scale change initiatives (preferably from a range of sectors)
- Experience of building management capability at multiple levels of management
- Experienced consultant, mentor and coach to the senior team(s) on organisational change
- Action-orientated with strong implementation skills
- Post-Graduate calibre
